Rachel is a mix of Scottish, Irish, English, and Chinese. She was born in Littleborough, Lancashire, but has spent most of her life living in North Wales. Nowadays, she’s settled in Scotland, on the edge of a forest in the middle of nowhere. Apart from writing fantasy, she might be guilty of spending half her time living in a fantasy world. She loves being near the river, walking in the forest, meditating, cycling, foraging, wildlife watching (especially red squirrels), visiting castles, ruins, and old houses, and catching up with the latest fantasy books and shows. When in the city, she might be found in a library, bookshop, or museum, or taking photos of old buildings.
